Nokia 5800 : Touch on Your Way

The first touch phone from the mobile giant, Nokia 5800 is a much hyped device. It was advertised well in advance by Nokia all over the world. It's released under XpressMusic series of music phones from Nokia. It's a Symbian S60 phone having emphasize on music and multimedia features.

Nokia 5800 is a candy bar phone with 111 × 51.7 × 15.5 mm dimension and weighing at 109g. It has 360 x 640 pixel resolution on a 3.2 Inch 16M touchscreen. Touchscreen of the phone has Nokia Dynamic Intelligent Layout technology to play with the menus and option within the phone software. It has a decent 128MB SDRAM with ARM11 CPU running at 369MHz. Latest Symbian OS 9.4 with S60 5th edition Operating system is running the device and thus providing latest Operating system to run. It can support upto 32GB microSD Card as well as the inbuilt memory plus the 8GB card included with the phone. Phone can be used with GSM, EGPRS, WCDMA, HSDPA, A-GPS enabled networks.

You have all the connectivity options with the phone like Bluetooth, GPRS, WLAN, HSDPA for 3G Networks. The phone has Bluetooth 2.0 (EDR/A2DP), WLAN (802.11 b/g), Micro-USB 2.0, 3.5 mm headphone and video-out jack for connecting it with other similar devices. It allows sharing the mobile content like games, music, wallpapers, screensavers etc. with these connectivity options.

It's got all the multimedia features one wants from a music device. You can play different formats like AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MP3, MP4, M4A, WMA, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, Mobile XMF, SP-MIDI, MIDI Tones (poly 64), RealAudio 7,8,10, True tones, WAV with the inbuilt media player of the phone. There are two cameras for different purposes. Back end camera having 3.2 Megapixels, Carl Zeiss AG optics with autofocus and dual LED flash for a good image quality. Front camera is for video calling with 3G mobile phone networks.

The battery of Nokia 5800, BL-5J (3.7V 1320mAh) has a good backup of up to 35 hours of crystal clear hi-fi music playback on media player.
